I begged the original owner of this piece to sell it to me basically the entire time I've been collecting cels. She always politely turned me down every time it came up. About a month back I decided to randomly send her an email to see if she was interested in selling it or a few of her other pieces from Kite. I'd purchased from her in the past and had passed on one of the other kite cels due to cost, I had the money right then so I thought it a good time to ask. I didn't hear a response so I figured she probably just wasn't interested in selling right then or maybe her email address had changed since it had been over a year ago.

However not even a full week later she sent out an email saying she was taking offers on her gallery. At that point I figured my mail must have been spammed and had Jen send one from her mailbox. Sadly she got back to us and said that someone else already had it on hold.

I was terribly devastated as I'd been waiting years only to have faulty technology rob me.

However she said it wasn't a solid hold, and that it was more that they were deciding what to get and she'd tell them to make a decision so she could get back to us. A few days later she mailed us back saying the other person decided not to get her and that she was ours. To make the deal even sweeter she sent us two Unknowns we'd expressed interest in as freebies. ^_^

As for the cel itself, it comes from the climax of the OVA. Sawa is finally is giving Akai what he so richly deserves. I feel good watching this scene, almost all the terrible stuff that happens in Kite is made better in this scene. I am SO very overjoyed to have this in my collection.
